I had the best setup for a while but due to wining bandmates (your too loud wah) and the usual GAS I decided to sell of my beloved Maz18jr and Z28. I ran them tandem and got the best Strat sound I think I could ever achieve. Well I got bored or thought the grass was greener and sold them both for a Friedman DS40, (GREAT amp) and it has been fine and I get compliments all the time BUT there was just something missing. I play with 2 other guitarist now with one right next to me and defining my sound over his can be challenging. One thing I NEVER had an issue with playing Z's is cutting through the mix. THAT is what I miss most. Well I ordered a new Z28MKII combo today and the DS is on the chopping block (for sale). I may go back to a two amp rig but probably not. The Z28 was my "effects" amp in the dual setup and it was heaven. I have no doubt I will be back in heaven.

It’s without a doubt the cream of the crop of Z amps. Huge 3D cutting tone. You will love it !

That is great to hear Faze! I have always regretted selling my Z amps. Now I wait...Sweetwater said it might not be until the spring ugh...but it will be worth it.

It’s a different animal then the regular Z-28 same overall tone but the sound projection is broader. It fills up the room your band mates will be jealous. It’s my favorite Z amp ever made and I have had most of them. Like a few of the other members who purchased this amp I have no reason to gig any other amp but this one. It’s just prefect in size weight and most importantly tone.

My Sweetwater rep emailed me after I asked how deep down the line I was and he said only 1 in front of me, wohoo! Then he emailed a short time later and somehow found one for me through "creative allocation"...not sure how but I do a lot of business with them. Hopefully the carriers don't destroy it like they have several times now with other amps.

I wasn't expecting one until April or May. My rep called and said the guy that was up next wasn't ready for it and wanted to know if I wanted to trade places with him. I have had it for three weeks now and it is the one of the best amps I have owned.
