Thanks for that! Just one more thing! They're not matched pairs, does that matter in terms of the sound they produce or is it just a factor in longevity?

Go to Z tube at top of page there is an AMA on these tubes from 4 years ago. In direct answer to your question, my guess is these tubes are pretty close in spec but it always helps to match

These are the tubes I personally use, but I have to say that the M12 is more forgiving than a lot of amps when it comes to tubes. I really like the M12 with a Hotter reading JJ, like on the Mesa Scale a 5 or 6.
Great Amps, I was just jamming away today.

In direct answer to your question, my guess is these tubes are pretty close in spec but it always helps to match The main reason for tube matching in a cathode biased circuit like the M12 is to reduce humming. If the tubes are close enough, the amp won’t hum. If not, it might but won’t damage it either way.

These tubes are really great! Clean and a bit more headroom than others. Clear and bright.
The later letters indicate some sort of quality measure.
As I recall, they were Ken’s choice for TrainWrecks, and were in Zwreck as well.
