Got my MK ii a month ago and fell in love immediately playing my strats. Very soon I got a hunch that an ES-335 would match the tonal structure ideally. Used have a 335 - with P90s but never learnt to like that pickup in that body. This week got myself a CS 335 with Custombuckers and like I anticipated - 335 & Z28 Mk II bond just perfect. A very balanced, solid & juicy tone. The 335 brings some wood & body to the tone but stays very articulate & vivid. Pretty much a dream tone. My Treble on 11 and Bass on 2 o'clock.
My drives are Greer LIghtspeed, Rockett EL Hombre, MP Royal Blue and the Holy Grit by Okko - it's just phenomenal with 335 & MK II
Another hunch is the combination of SG & Mark II. Anyone experienced that? Will take some time before I get the chance to check it myself.

I haven't found a guitar yet that doesn't sound great with this amp. You should hear it with the Duesenberg Alliance Joe Walsh signature guitar. It's pure heaven.
I've played my SG with the stock 498s, Explorer with Burstbucker 2 & 3, LP with Custom Buckers, 335 with '59 Classics, Heritage 535 with Seth Lovers, Strats, Teles, it doesn't matter what I plug in...the amp laps it up and sounds terrific. It's the best amp I've ever played, bar none.

Wonder what's the tonal difference between it & 335 played via MKII?

It's got more of a single coil chime, more open than humbuckers. They're their own beast, very cool sounding pickups.

It loves Strats and single coils. I also have a Suhr Classic S which also sounds great with it. I played my sons SG and also his Fender Jaguar through it and they both sound great. I prefer single coils so I really like my Strats with the MK11. I just hit the front end of the amp with that lovepedal tchula and use my pedals to get whatever I want. This amp loves effects. I have a jam whacko wah jam retro vibe chase tone purple stardust Chase tone fuzz fella lovepedal tchula BE overdrive and a jam pedals delay lama mk3

I'll try and record a clip with the JW Duesenberg straight into the MKII after rehearsal tonight.
