I've been running my Treble control low at gigs with the Big Band, around 10:30 or so. Bass at 11ish, and I've kept the Volume down around 10:30. Today I was experimenting and cranked that Treble control up to about 2 or 3:00, and bumped the Bass up to noon. I also turned the Volume up to Noon. I love the added gain and response that comes with this Treble control. It seems to my ears anyway that while it naturally adds highs, it also effects the Mids too. It doesn't get barky or bitey, it gets more responsive and has a little cream on top. Doc did a brilliant job on this tone stack, and voicing this amp. The honeymoon is over and I'm still loving this amplifier more all the time.
Anyone else have similar experience? I'm curious what you all are running for Gain and Tone settings.

Live I run my master wide open Volume at 9-10 Treble at 1 bass at 11. Home I have it volume at 12 treble at 1 bass at 11 and master volume at about 10. I hit it with the lovepedal tchula and use my guitar volume and tone controls with my fuzz and overdrive pedals to get what ever I want from gain to clean. This amp loves pedals it eats them up like pac-man. It's an incredible amp. I find that when you are at home with the volume at about noon the amp really opens up better. Then you just dial in the rest with the tone stack and master volume. I always use that tchula as a boost though. It gives me just a little bit more dynamics and I just like the way it breaks the amp up.

Another way I just tried today at home was too was crank the volume up all the way with treble at 1 bass at 11 and master at 9. Got some great results with my fuzz and gain pedals and the guitar volume going from clean to scream.

Got my volume on 11 - 11.30 and master around 2 o'clock. The funny thing is that the over all volume does not increase if I just put the master on like 3.30 or 4 o'clock. The volume increases just a tiny tad. It really is not a loud amp for a 35 watter. The treble on 12 and bass on 1 o'clock. Playin strats.

My #1: R8, Alnico 5 neck and bridge -7.5k and 7.9K - plugged straight in; at home playing using Dr Z 2x12 open back cab with Celestion CB M65 paired with G12H30 70th Anniversary
Master: 2 o'clock
Volume: 11 o'clock
Treble: 2 o'clock
Bass: 9 o'clock
Control clean or dirty with guitar volume knob - sounds fantastic.

With my Tele's, I run my Maz Mk.II at:
Treb: 11:00 Mids: 11:00 Bass: 10:00 Cut: 10:00-11:00 Vol: 10:00 - 11:00 Master to taste to fit venue or home use Cab: Z-1x12 convertible with a Celestion Blue
With humbucker guitars, I will turn up the treble and cut, about 2 (hours) and sometimes back down the mids about 1-2 (hours).
Sometimes, sitting at home, it can sound a little barky or bitey, maybe even boxy....But once it's in a band mix, all of those things I just mentioned, makes it an amazing sounding live/recorded amp.
I chose to keep this amp over a Z-Wreck Jr (or the full sized one). It's by far, my favorite Z amp ever.

One setting I love to use is maxing out the bass & treble & adjusting the volume to taste. It gives a massive sound but retains the dynamics and articulation of each note. Absolute killer tone!!

At the moment: Master 10 Volume 2 Bass 1 Treble 1
This was playing my Strat. Normally I don't run treble so high but I find that I really like the way it sounds past noon with this amp. It is a pretty amazing tone stack. I have to also agree that this amp loves peddles!
