Had a last minute booking to open for Jerry Joseph and the Jackmormons. This is the video from my zoom with built-in mics. I'll be getting a better video with multitrack audio mix from the sound man. Had to keep stage volume down so I relied on a tube screamer with low gain most of the night. Forgot some lyrics, too. SHOW STARTS AT 10 MINUTE MARK.

I don't know who Joseph is, or his Jackmormons, but you three are a hard act to follow. Great stuff Ian, and thank you for sharing your music with us.

i got a better video with the board mix sync'd to it. ooooph... so many mistakes you can hear vs. listening to the room mic's.

That was a great show. And regarding "mistakes," that's why there are no truly "live" albums. They all have many overdubs and "post" fixes. I thought it sounded great, and the "mistakes" are what makes live music interesting.

thanks for listening!

I typically do that when I have a setup as yours. The live feed generally provides a little more energy (and covers mistakes) where the board feed provides some detail. You have to do a good job of lining up the two feeds in your audio software. At our last gig, we had minimum time for sound check. Our bass player had this small, but mighty, 1x12 or 1x15 combo amp. It was funny listening to the live feeds where the bass was filling out rather nicely. I was surprised to hear the board feed where the bass was almost non-existent. Apparently, he got his little combo cranking well enough to keep up with a fully mic'd band where we were supported by a pair of QSC 18" subs under the rest of the PA. And, his stage volume wasn't an issue. Your band sounds good. Nice Work!

i'm working on creating a blended Audio track for the video that the soundman shot video on his Samsung phone which looks so much nicer than the video from my Zoom camera.

thank you. soloing in F# minor pentatonic always reminds me of either Mr. You're a Better Man Than I or the live version of Immigrant Song. I always want to start with a big bend on the g string. i think the solo has a strong beginning, builds to a nice climax and then i fumble the landing trying to get back to doubling the rhythm with the bassist. I need to focus on the outro of the solo come up with something solid and repeatable.
we are working up a version of She Said> Tomorrow Never Knows so i have preset now on my delay for a reverse echo. it's pretty fun to play with. i engage it for a bit at 42:56.
I know the resolution is bad but can you make out my t-shirt? Empirical.

No, I didn’t notice. the wild hair flying around distracted me.

I really like this, Ian, although I just started listening. Will finish it later, but I don't doubt that the rest will be most entertaining.
