That isn't a whole lot more than they sold for originally! Way to go Paul!

Yeah, I didn't "need" it either, but I have the Timmy V3 and it's my favorite OD pedal....so why not check out it's big brother. Paul is definitely a class act so I don't mind throwing some money his way.

I had a Tim years ago and replaced it with a Timmy because I didn't use the boost or loop on the Tim and thought it'd be nice to have a smaller pedal. That was a big mistake! The Tim had a brilliance and "pop" that I could never quite dial in with the Timmy.

You guys got me all excited and then I watched a few videos and lost all excitement. What am I missing?
I sort of hear that clean pass-through sound mixed in with some lightly distorted signal in general. That generally works well with single coils, but all but one of the videos I watched was with single coils. The one I saw with a humbucker kind of spoke that to me. Love that guy's channel name though "Jeremy's Below Average Channel", and the video is pretty funny too.
Love the idea of the boost switch being tied to the effect loop. That is super clever and practical.

I must be missing something also!

I missed out on the original run of these (as well as the Klon). I've never tried one, although I have a couple Timmy's. So I'm looking forward to hearing it.
Another thing.....I'm watching my KOT's and POT's go up in value, and I stupidly sold my 2 KTR's for basically what I paid for them. Maybe the Tim V3 will follow in these other's footsteps (and its original version). I'm not selling it anytime soon and will probably just put it away. I have my drives settled upon (and have for a few years now).

Most pedal demo videos are not helpful because there are too many variables and / or differences in rigs (mine compared with the other person's), playing styles, results wanted, etc. for me to know if the pedal will suit me.
The Tim (and Timmy) have good reputations, but I've never tried one, so I took a flyer. If I like it, great; if not, OK I'll sell it.Another fact is that I am an OD junkie: I like having them even though most of them sit on "the bench" rather than getting game time.

I'm in the same camp as Mike, I love ODs. I had a real Timmy, and then I built a clone that sounded the same to me, so I sold my Timmy. I've never had a Tim and I've always been intrigued by a pedal with an effects loop, ( I think you can use it that way, maybe not) and they always interested me. Never did see one for a non-astronomical price though so I went for this one. Also, a few guys say they use their KOT with both sides on, and so this will make it easy to put the KOT to use when I get a real one. I do have a 69 pedals clone that sounds really nice, but only with both sides on. So I think it'll be useful and cool if I can loop it into the Tim.

Speaking of pedals with a loop, the Draconis from Lizard Leg Effects is very neat. It's two boosts with a loop in between so you can have a boost to push part of the pedal chain and a boost to lift volume, for example, later in the chain. I'm pretty sure the company is no longer in business. (My pedal dates from 2009.) Steve, the owner, was a regular here in Z Talk when I first joined.

Mine came in early, and first impression is that I really like it. I think it sounds better than the Timmy, and it's certainly more versatile. Hi cut choices are -3dB @ 3kHz or -3dB @ 1.5kHz. There's a new assymetrical clipper in the "Center" clip switch setting that is really nice, and the Boost works very well. It has been really well thought out and has a very cool blue metalflake paint job.
It responds really well to guitar volume changes and I think it's going to be a big winner. I'm digging it so far, that's for sure.

Mine arrived also, but I haven't had time to try it yet.
Part of the appeal is, to me, that this is a hand-made by its designer pedal. Sounds like an amp company I know.

I'm really glad that I saw this post, I always wanted one of the original Tim pedals, so thanks rudeboy!
The boost function is great. Paul C says that some of his favorite sounds are with the drive low and the boost high, and I can see why.
The "Boost Tone" is really very functional, it adds a new level of control to whatever pedal is in the loop. Super cool. Today I'm going to figure out where the loop sits in the Tim, whether it's before the OD or after.
For you fellas that have experience with the Tim, what pedals have you looped into it? Do you like high gain or low? Or have you used modulation pedals like a phaser?

Mine arrived yesterday but we were out of town so I'm going to try it later tonight. I didn't expect it to be as small as it is. A+ for size!

I'm getting great sounds from this pedal after spending some time with it. There are a lot of knobs, which can mean lots of sounds, both good and not-so-good. Best sound so far are with a Tele plugged into a really good 5E3 replica. I'm going to try it with a MAZ 8 today.
I haven't done any side-by-side pedal comparisons yet. My sense is that the Tim will complement other drives that inherently shape the eq, such as TS variants and D-style pedals. I haven't tried the loop either.

So how’s it going? Right now I have it off the board but thinking about adding it back when my EMS is done being updated.

At present, I'm running the Tim in front of a Kingtone Duellist, then into a DB4. The amp is set clean with moderate volume (lo input and half power). The Tim is set to add sparkle and touch sensitivity at the front end of the signal path, i.e., gain is not up much. My options for higher gain are any of (1) using the Tim's boost; (2) using either or both sides of the Duellist without the TIm engaged; (3) Tim plus Duellist.
To Adam's point: I've got this dialed in for a Tele. I should try it with humbuckers.
