Still love mine too. I bought a 1x12 combo and liked it so much that I bought a 2x12 bluesbreaker combo this year. It’s such an amazing amp.

One of the best kept secrets in the lineup. It's a shame it wasn't more popular. This amp is very special indeed. I can't imagine ever selling mine.

I've gradually been moving gear from one location to another. I'm gaining more space to set up amps as part of that. My DB-4 made the move this weekend. Plugged it in today. Yes, it's a great amp. I've got to do some a/b listening with the 30th Anni Mazerati, another 4 x EL84 Z creation that also recently got re-located.
Fwiw, today I went straight in with a Nash T-52 and kept it super clean. You can hear every nicely executed move and every misstep you make. Great tool for improvement!

It is mid 2023 and this amp is still my #1 gigging amp. I made some Kemper profiles of it that I use live just to get my tone at a volume that the sound guy and FOH can be happy with it. I don't like them just throwing any house mics in front of my cab. I want to give them the tone I worked on, thus is why I use the Kemper. I like running the amp dirty which would be pretty loud. But I run my Kemper into Power Station into my DB4 1x12 combo/cab so can get the feel and tone of the real thing. So many people have come up and said, what a great sound. I never heard of that Z amp model... Then I get to talk about it and demo how great of an amp it is. Doc and Brad never received the credit they deserved for this one. Nice to see it is sort of coming back with the X Ray. That 5879 preamp tube is so cool.

I used mine quite a bit this summer. It's an awesome amp for sure. My QS Wreck is a pain in the arse to move around vs the DB4 Combo. I still prefer the Wreck though. I've put my DB4 up for sale again LOL. I go back and forth with it. If It does not sell oh well. I'd kind of like to get a 65 Amp London again. That amp was a pain in the arse as far as tubes but dang it sounds good. I'm back using the Wreck for a while. At some time point I'll fire the DB4 up and be reminded why I like it.
I find the DB4 to be cleaner at the same volume as the Wreck. Mine has a very nice top end to it and works with Telecasters just like the Wreck. Snappy.
I Feel 2 Blues would be the way to go if you can handle it. The gold might be a bit to smooth. YMMV.

Nice to see it is sort of coming back with the X Ray. That 5879 preamp tube is so cool. So..After a few months using the Wreck, I swapped the 2 amps so I could see where I'm at with the DB4. I recently put it up for sale as the Wreck is my thing usually. Might have to pull the FS add (again) as this amp IS really something. If this was my only amp on a desert island I could be happy for sure. I seem to come and go on it. Not sure why. I put my Telecasters away for a while and plan to do the next few shows with a fantastic LP Jr I have. It will be fun to change it up for a bit as I have become Mr Tele/Wreck lately. I play 80's 90's all the way to now style country and it will be fun to do a few shows just with the JR/DB4. I have the 1x12 combo. I don't think the speaker was ever pushed by the previous owner. I put a lot of hours on it and maybe it's voodoo, maybe its real but I swear it's better than when I 1st brought it home. That being said, I bet 2 Blue's really make this amp. Kinda like the Gold/Blue are a big part of the Wreck sound.
