Realized recently that I do not use most of the pedals on my pedalboard. So what do I use the most? Wah, Klon, Noise Reduction, A/B-Y and Tuner. That is it. I have lots of pedals around and rotate ones around a good bit. But most rarely get used. Here is a picture of my current board. So what do you have on you board and what are the ones you use the most?

Reverb is on 99% of the time (the 1% is the beginning of the first song when I forgot to turn it on). Nice board!

Nordland ODR-C and AnalogMan ADRX20 delay. Truth is I could gig with just those two if needed.

Most often used: reverb (MXR) and overdrive (Nordland ODR-C, Analogman KoT, MXR Timmy) For quite a few songs: analog delay (MXR Carbon Copy), tremolo (Suhr Jack Rabbit) Really useful: tuner (TC El PolyTune) and volume (Lehle Mono) Only very occasionally: fuzz, wah, ...

As of yesterday: Cornerstone Gladio and Kingtone Duellist, plus tuner. ODs are dialed in for MAZ 8 set clean and used for practice at home volume, not gig settings.
As of tomorrow: who knows? I'm in the rebuilding process.
Fwiw, I'm experimenting with an OD sequence of low-high-low-high using the above pedals, which are both dual drives. the idea is to be able to do either or both of hitting on OD with another OD to get a different drive flavor and having an available solo lift/boost.

Bottom row: (R to L) Ernie Ball VPJR Tuner, CryBaby, POG, MXR Dyna Comp, Ibanez TS-9, MXR Carbon Copy Top Row: (L to R) Strymon Flint, Radial Twin Cities ABY, Strymon Iridium, Radial D1 The compressor and the reverb are always on. The next most used are the tuner, overdrive, and delay. The least used are the wah, POG, tremolo and ABY. The Iridium is my back up amp and the D1 is it’s connection to the board.

Just in case I need them.

I use an Ego Compressor quite a bit , often coupled with an Xotic RC Boost , and sometimes and Xotic AC Boost for heavier stuff. I like reverb and delay when called for.

Tuner (does that count?)
Greer Lightspeed Organic Overdrive (almost always on)
Boss GE-7 (mid/lead boost on most songs)
Timmy (only when I need to ROCK!)

I've pared down both my boards to be only the bare essentials. All of the pedals get used although phaser is probably the pedal I use the least.

A little off track, but to me, if you had a maz 18 head and could truly crank it into a 4x12, all you need is the eq bypass switch that comes with the amp. It does everything, great crunch, great clean with the guitar volume rolled back, and fully saturated lead tone with the eq bypass engaged. Maybe the ability to switch between a humbucker or single coil guitar, but everything you need is right there with no pedals.

I have two pedal boards and I have RYRA Klones on them both, which I keep on all the time.
I use them at the end of my drives. It's a quick an easy adjustment when changing guitars. A little tweak to the tone and/or gain and I'm happy.

Topanga reverb, Wampler Belle and J Rockett El Hombre. Just picked up a Keeley compressor plus that I think will be an always on option.

Lovepedal T chula stays on 99 per cent of the time. Friedman BE-Overdrive and Chase Tone Fuzz fella for lead and overdrive tones. Jam pedals wah and vibe off and on. MXR Script phaser for funky stuff. T.C Electronics Alter Ego for delay. I do use all of them though but the dirt pedals get used the most. Mainly because I use single coil guitars. I recently picked up a Suhr Classic S with a humbucker in the bridge. So now I am working things out with it.

In order of use: -KOT (most songs) -Ego Compressor (for a handful of country-ish songs and super squished for a Nowhere Man-style solo on one song) -Flint (just the trem side on a couple of songs) -Tuner (as needed)

TC Electronics tuner is first Corona Chorus (this pedal has a good buffer - plus I just can't beat my addiction to chorus pedals, although I hardly use it) MXR Carbon Copy is last
Otherwise, I always have sandwiched in between: a clean boost, a drive for a bit of fur and a drive for the sustains-lead tones currently Diamond compressor for clean boost/"more" zendrive for edge of breakup fur Timmy for leads (I know this is opposite to how most people run a Timmy, but is works well for me) plus, Timmy and Zen together is a bit over the top, but pretty cool sounding...
