Well folks Have any of you used this pedal? Thinking of buying one. Your thoughts would be much appreciated.

I have one and love it for Marshall tones. To be fair, I only like amp in a box style pedals as opposed to overdrives. For me, this is one of the very best M style pedals out there. Great for lower gain plexi stuff like early ZZ, but has the stones to go much, much heavier when needed. Not muddy, not overly bright, and has EQ. I like it better than the BE OD Deluxe for most applications. Also Dave (premium plus) has one and his insights are always most helpful.

I've had a bunch of Marshall type pedals. My Smallbox is the best of any I have heard. What I really like about it is the tone stack. Having 4 bands, like the amp, makes dialing in a sound easy.

I really like this pedal, it's got a wide range of tone control and a gain Hi/Lo switch on the side. I liked it so much I now have two! One stays at church and one on my Big Band board. I dig the way it blooms the notes. I tend to get down in the weeds and so I have a lab quality HP AC Voltmeter that I will plug into the output of my pedalboard to measure the difference between input and output levels. You can see a real bloom in the output of the Smallbox. I'll strum an open chord and the level will rise to say, 250mV. It'll begin to fall then it rises back up before decaying again. I did a double take the first time I saw this happen, but it's real. Here's the meter I use:

I use my Smallbox primarily for my slide tone. This ^ must be the reason I like it for that. I could dial it in to use for normal guitar dirt but I have gravitated to an ODR-C for most of that. The Smallbox still gets a lot of work though because I play slide about 20% of the time. I'll have to try that trick with the voltmeter. I've got a fairly nice old Heathkit tube meter and also a good Simpson.

It's got a tuner output that I plug the AC voltmeter into.
I thought that to get unity gain from the pedal board that I'd balance the input and output levels and be good to go. Not so! It works with clean amps but gainer ones take less input from any gain pedals than the clean ones do. The gainier the amp, the less it takes for apparent (actual dB in the room) unity gain. I'd use the Heathkit VTVM if I were you, it won't load the pedalboard like a VOM will.
I'm always learning something, that's one of the many things I love about guitar and equipment.

Got the small box yesterday. It is def what I hoped it would be. It sounds like a 50 watt plexi. Awesome overdrive and crunch. Very amp like in character. Sounds amazing with the Z-28 mk11
