I had my MAZ running for a few hours and after I shut it off I put my hand in back and checked the main power transformer and it was hot, not that I could'nt touch it but it was hot. Is this normal?

I'm planning on blasting away on my MAZ today. I'll check mine. Just so we're on the same page...are you talking about the big transformer furthest away from the inputs? Not the smaller one in the middle of the chassis?

Si, that is normal. Now if you start to smell a buring plastic type of smell...that is not. Every amp I've owned (tube amp) the trannies do get warm.

Yes, the big transformer, no burning plastic smell, or any hot melting stuff smells, I just felt the transformer and it seemed a little hot, not so hot that I could'nt keep my hand on it but it just seemed a little hot, I have a Fender Princeton Reverb II and the tranny in that amp was designed a little oversize for the amp and that one does'nt get as hot, that's probably why I am asking, but the MAZ is not a PRII and if that's normal then there's no cause for alarm.
