I thought I saw mention of it in another thread and now see it’s now listed in the legacy section on the Z site.
It was a good run!! It gets a lot of love around here for sure but I don’t think it ever reached it’s full potential.
So glad I got mine, now updated, with the Z 4x10.

Must be time for another new amp to be released! One in - one out. I love my EZG through both a 4x10 Z (I used my Z-28 4x10) and a 1x15. Great amp!

I thought the EZG had been on the Legacy list for quite some time. Could be a recent addition though as I have not followed it closely.

I believe I’ve posted just in other threads so sorry if I’m repeating myself. I’m so glad I got one and had the bass mod and current voicing done. That along with the Z 4x10 cabinet with the Z legend alnico speakers is perfect for what I’m after. I still want to try it with a 1x15 cab for the Vibroverb thing.

What a great amp! I think it just wasn't very popular anymore. I'm glad I was able to get one when I did. Voice modes and ppimv it's very versatile as well.

I got mine EZG from Italy with nice price. did the BASS Mod and it sounds incredible! Don't understand why DR.Z decided to discontinue this AMP... Perhaps it runs on low quantity&orders?

I'm guessing there is a lot of overlap between this am and the Z-Lux, but the Z-Lux has trem and a half power switch as well. There are a lot of blackface clones and inspired amps in the market too. Still, I would like to have an EZG-50 again.

In a limited size shop that hand builds and has new models coming out, something has to give. I'm sure that sales history plays a big part in the decision on which models have to make way for the new ones.

I don't think any of the amps that get discontinued are discontinued because they aren't great amps. Probably has to do with general interest in that amp waining, plus Z always has more designs he'd like to unleash on the public. Basically what the others have said. To your point on the EZG, yes, it's a fantastic amp and I'm super blessed to have one. Never had a super, but have owned quite a few other fenders. Fantastic sounding amp in the fender camp and no need to look at anything else fender related for me. Another discontinued one I feel similarly about is the Remedy. That thing is stunning. BTW on the EZG and Remedy, I picked both of those up used. EZG was basically DOA, but I sent it to Z and it's as good as new now. The 13 year old Remedy I didn't have to do anything, sounds great, and I think still has the original tubes. It's not even the newer version of that amp.

adam you're spot on! I purchased both of those amps used. Sent them both to Z for checkups and upgrades. Both are amazing!

I have drew a schematic from my EZG last year, and found that it really not a simple copy of super, not even close. I'd rather call it AB763 inspired creation.
It has tweaks over everwhere, like the preamp bias, the reverb driver input impedance... the biggest difference is, it has a marshall style tone stack! Means if you turn down the MID, it will slightly enhance the BASS, especially when BASS and MID is all down, the mid pot will give a 10k BASS setting. I think that's another reason why people said it's a bass heavy AMP. My EZG is early version, don't know if it has been changed on later versions.
I tried to wire the tone stack to fender type, with eminence GA10-SC64 or Jensen P10Rs, it gives very glassy fender sound.
