I love my Cure (small, lightweight, good tone at any volume) but sometimes miss the Vox-y/Marshall-ish tones I could coax out of the Maz18NR I used to have. Is anyone using both, either in tandem or switching back and forth as their main amp? Thoughts?
FWIW--I play mostly rootsy/Beatle-y pop music in small venues.

I have done it and they work well together. If I remember correctly and I'm pretty sure I do, the amps are out of phase with each other. That means that when you use them together, like out of phase pickups, it will sound thinner than either alone. To solve that problem you need to flip the positive and negative terminals on the speaker of one of the amps. The other thing that may happen is you may get a buzz from a ground loop. I solve that problem by putting one of those little ground lift plugs on one of the amps. It works better on one of the amps than the other, don't remember which. There are some folks here who will tell you not to do that because they think one of the amps won't be grounded. I've been told by amp builders and electricians that that isn't the case, that you are actually grounding the ground lifted amp through the other one, All I can say is I've been doing that for approaching 50 years and never had a problem. You're on your own.

I really never do the 2 amp thing, but on a whim the other day plugged in the Remedy and Maz38 with a chorus splitting the signal and thought for sure it wouldn't work because of ground hum or maybe phase, but it was perfect and no noise at all. Usually I'd have to add an amp switcher thing with phase switch or isolation transformer. Just thought it was cool and related to the multiple amp thing.

Okay, after making the post above I realized you asked about the Cure and the Maz. My addled brain thought Z-Plus and Maz. I'm blaming it on just getting in from cutting grass for an hour and a half. Certainly not old age. So what I said really involved those two amps. Since the Cure doesn't have reverb in it, I'd guess it is in phase with the Maz NR, but I'm not positive. You should be able to hear it if they are out. The ground loop thing may still happen.

fallingstarsusaIf you'd like me to run both of these amps together and give you my impression, I'd be happy to do it. I've never ran two Z amps together and have anything less than an awesome tone. The Maz18NRmkII is an amazing sounding amp. You can get such a huge variety of tone, It's got to be the most versatile amp I've ever owned. Get one and you will not be disappointed.

My favorite gig rig is Cure + Carmen Ghia, or frankly, Cure + anything (e.g. 5E3 Deluxe or Princeton). For whatever reason, these amps are out of phase with the Cure. The solution is easy - Radial Twin Cities ABY box; it solves all problems instantly and has a built-in buffer so that each output gives you 100% signal strength. Sounds fabulous; you get that dual speaker, complex aggregate tone 1+1=3 thing. Unfortunately since Covid, haven’t had a gig opportunity to indulge in two amp rig.

I run my Cure and a 5e3 I built a few years ago. I was running the Cure with an original 1965 Deluxe Reverb, but I find the 5e3 a better match. I also use the Radial Twin-City ABY switcher to hook them together. I run a reverb and delay pedal into the effects loop of the Cure. Great setup and lots of tones to be had. The 5e3 has a few pedals going into the front of the amp, the Cure is straight in.
