I have been experiencing ghost notes, on notes around the 12th fret with fuzz heavy distortion. A tech I know suggested doping the speakers, he showed me what he uses (it's called "Tacky Glue" ) it dries but stays pliable. My MAZ came with two 10" Dr Z special design speakers made by Weber, does anybody know what overall effect doping has on a speaker soundwise. I know it extends the life of the speaker but will it have an effect on tone?

Ghost note and cone cry are different things. Ghost note is an electronic issue that has to do with filtering of A/C. Cone cry is when the cone moves in a non-linear way that it makes a sound that you didn't put into it. This is the first I've heard of Z 10" speakers doing anything but sounding good. Maybe these speakers are from before DR Z started making his own speakers.

I took out one of my speakers and found that they have been doped already, it looks like a mild doping but I figure I'll leave them be.
