I own #5 and #172, both "Interstate" Routes. Both power transformers have the same "numbers" on the PT but only #5 has the Dixie Sound Works label. How many of the early Routes had the Dixie Sound PT? Did the numbering change on latter PTs? Here's #5: Both "bells" of 5 & 172 PTs: Both "bells" of 5 & 172 OTs:

I think 25-30 Route 66's have the Dixie PT (including the one GP reviewed for the first ever editors pick award). I have 2 of them, #3 and #461, though #461 was a custom order and used the last Dixie PT which Z had held back for whatever reason. Both have the Dixie label and Both were made June of 98', so I suspect there was 1 production run of those PT's. The Dixie PT's delivered a bit lower voltage maybe 25v less on the power tube plates. So if you measured plate voltage you should see a difference between the 2. I know there were 2 proto types (I had one of them for a while before he made me one), and this one below has 003 stamped on the chassis, so not sure if its the first production Route 66 or not, maybe. #461 Route 66
