He All -
Just watched a Youtube featuring this amp and I love the sound.
If one comes up with the master volume I am inclined to buy it.
I tried out a Galaxy but it was wicked loud and so very heavy.
My question is, would this amp be way overkill for home use?
My other option is the new 30 watt Soldano SLO30.
Any comments will be much appreciated.

It will not be overkill for at home in my opinion. The ppimv works great. Don at Dr Z can modify one to add the ppimv. I had mine done years ago and love it!

I have a MV Remedy and have no troubles playing at home. I do live in a detached 50 year old house in an urban suburb. The neighbours haven’t complained and usually the family doesn’t either. The may turn up the tv. 😎 The amp does have 20 or 40 watt options via a switch on the back panel. I use a BrakeLite with it for added tonal versatility and volume control, but it isn’t necessary. The amp takes boost pedals well and is another way to great tone at controlled volume. Short answer, yes! ME

It depends on your definition of 'loud'...or what is too loud.
If you have the ability to crank the amp and play 'loud', then sure you can use it as a home amp. But I'm not a fan of taking loud amps and master volume-ing them down to bedroom levels. Part of the tone and feel is having those power tubes get slammed with signal. The way they react to such a quick and hard signal, and the tone they make when pushed hard. It is a contributing factor to an amp's sound and FEEL.
Also, speaker choice as well as cabinet selection contributes heavily to the overall tone.

Too much volume for home - I have a non master version and I'd say not at all if you just want a fantastic clean tone. Unlocking the other tones takes volume, but ways around that. I just kind of think that if the amp just did that clean tone, it's justified just in that. Just my 2 cents.
Also, I played the 30 watt SLO a while back and thought it was really well done for a crunch and really saturated lead tone. Really different from a Remedy though.

I use mine for home use all the time. I have a MV but sometimes use an airbrake as well to allow it to run in the settings is use at gigs. I get tone for days even at bedroom volume and even keep it at the 40 watt setting for increased head room. It is truly an amazing amp. I hope the good Dr. continues to innovate around the Marshall platform. I will be the 1st to buy the next of his amps that do the Marshall thing and more.

I've had mine about 2months. The MV/half-power models go for more, of course - I think I paid $1400 shipped for mine in great shape. Just watch on Reverb and do occasional web search, or weigh in the price of sending an non-MV version to Z for the upgrade. I only watched for a week or two then pounced! Haha maybe I got lucky. Very happy with the purchase and it does sound fantastic at home. It can get super loud but ppimv works fantastic. Here's mine with my Mojotone 212 loaded with CB-M and 25w GB. Phenomenal! imgur.com/laBxcM2
