Rectifier tube in the Route 66. Should I only pull straight or wiggle? How much wiggle.
Cheers

I've always used just a slight wiggle while pulling up (holding the tube by the base -not the glass) and never had a problem.

If you wiggle to much you'll break the plastic key tab on the tube. I'd wiggle just a little like Frank said and pull straight out. One tip for a stuck tube is to pull the chassis first or when the stubborn tube does finally come free you'll probably whack it on top of the head shell. I know this for fact lol.
You also get a straighter more forcefull pull that way.

You need to wiggle it, just a little bit...

I find a little wiggle, but with a circular motion works best for me. Also, be sure you have those vise clips spread out so the teeth don't grab the tube while you do it, so it's really a two handed operation.
