I dont have any local dealers, and I have never played a Z before, but based on everything I have read, I made the decision to buy a used (heavily used) but not abused Route 66 (newer logo, so not interstate). A few questions: Can I order a new head cabinet? And since tube-ocolypse is upon us, does anyone know where I could get some tubes (i think they will need replaced, tubes are original) and not get gouged.

Sorry I don't know about a replacement cabinet. I'm just learning of tube-ocolypse by organizing tubes I have....... Either way you'll love your amp. They are so well made that I believe that even with only moderately good tubes, you'll be sounding great.

Welcome to the Forum. A lot of good people and information here. You can send a note to Doc about the cab - he sometimes has some things sitting around the shop. I think this is a good e-mail address for him. repairs@drzamps.com link

If you can't get a Z cabinet, try Mather Cabs. Several forum members, including me have had good luck with Mather.
Welcome to the forum!

Just an update, I found a good price on a NOS ef86, and rectifier, but had to go gold lion on the kt66. I also bought another z already, a remedy.
