I just bought a used Db4 1x12 combo off reverb and I’m super excited! I’ve been wanting to try this model for a long time. The only downside is that it has a scum back bm75 in it. I may have to switch for the gold. I tried to get a New one from Dr Z, but they are still so back logged and not able to build legacy models for a while. My band plays a wide variety of tunes from classic rock to pop. Im hoping this will be versatile enough to cover all that. I recently bought a Stangray head from a forum member, but it’s just a little too clean and loud for what im needing right now. I may have to offload that one soon. Let me know if y’all think the DB4 is able to cover edge of break up clean to overdrive well.

Congrats on your purchase. It is a great amp. The Gold speaker will sound the best. The Russian 6n14n tubes sound the best with that amp. If yours comes with the JJ’s it might be a nice upgrade to get a quad of the Russian tubes. Enjoy!

Also, does anyone know what size head cab fits the DB4? I’d like to convert it to a head format. Does any of Dr Z’s other amps use the same head can as the Db4? Thanks!
