I rarely contribute or post to message boards, but I do lurk, read and try to pickup bits of info here and there. I recently bought a Maz Jr. and have never been happier with an amp than I am now. I know you read this all over this site, but it really is true. It’s fairly easy to listen to recordings and sound clips to get a general idea how an amp sounds, but it doesn’t show how an amp feels or responds. This to me is really what makes the Z a great amp.
I think everyone here knows that sinking feeling you get after buying an amp and after playing it you start to find all these weak areas that you must work around. My last amp was a very nice sounding amp with many features. I spent a year with that amp and probably spent more time twisting knobs than playing. The only time I touch a knob on the Maz Jr. is to turn the volume up or down. There really are no bad settings on it… they all sound great. I’ve had the amp for about 2 months, so the honeymoon is over.
My next amp will be a Z…

You've had yours longer, so you would know better than i just how exceptional this amp really is. Your comments regarding tone settings are spot on. There are no bad settings, all control variations sound good. A fact which actually has me scratching my head right now. What tone settings to use for doing my own thing....? hmmmmmm I'll have to spend more time on that. And like you said, no sinking feeling due to inherent limitations. Have found some limitations in my techniques though, finger placement is more critical with the Maz because you can clearly hear every note. I'm loving this little but mighty amp.
