Any thoughts? something to step on during solos? I don't want to change the tone just a little more sizzle and compresson for lead breaks.

These are the ones that I would use or try Timmy low gain setting Wampler Belle or ODR-1 (I haven't tried these, but I think the low gain transparent tone is what they shine at) Gain Changer low gain

Barber Launch Pad if you can find one is a great boost that has several useful functions. Larger than today’s average pedal, but I still find room for it. Other option is the trusty RC booster from Xotic.

I have used a Suhr Koko Boost through the loop for just that purpose. You can use one channel as a transparent boost and the other with a frequency selectable midboost.

You could always try an “under boost”. Take a boost pedal and dial it back to reduce your volume for rhythm and turn it off for the volume boost you are looking for. Might work. ME

Or use your guitar volume as a boost - set the amp for rhythm on lower guitar volume knob lower then max and use that as a booster for leads
