I been jonesing for a CAZ45 since they came out last year.
I keep going back and fourth between the CAZ and a Late 80s early 90s JCM 800. I picked up an EVH5150 El34 50 watt but it just has way too much gain. It really doesn't clean up in a nice way with the volume knob. Current band does Van Halen, Ozzy, STP, Velvet Revolver, Guns and Roses, Alice In Chains.
I also do a lot of country, classic rock and Americana. Zplus Maz18 and Zwreck has that pretty much covered......
Talk me into the CAZ.............

Hey Jim, if I may let me tell you my perspective on the CAZ. I certainly drove outside my lane with release of the CAZ. But I feel, I built with the collaboration of one the finest amp designers Alan Phillips, an amp that can cover all the needs you have stated and then some, if you listen to Adams excellent video you can hear the versatility of CAZ . I think I may have marketed it wrong by stating it is a HIGH gain amp. It does have an incredible amount of gain available but the 7 string heavy rockers feel it doesn't quite fit there needs. Which is fine because it does so much more .
The CAZ has three unique controls that will take a little time to explore and experiment with to uncover all the treasure in this amp. Sensitivity, Aggression , and Level, these three controls will turn this amp into a Pink Floyd , to a EVH capable machine. I feel it is a perfect Hard Rock amp and reacts way past my Vintage base designs in that regard .
I know you can make it sing Jim. It has SOO much more to offer than a JCM 800 IMHO.

Thanks for the reply Doc! I'm sure I'm going to love it! I really like the idea that it can clean up with the volume knob and do things other than the high gain stuff. I have to check, I think my local dealer may actually have one in stock.
Thanks again for making such killer stuff!

It's a killer amp with tremendous versatility. It has plenty of gain on tap but it doesn't have to be gained up to sound fantastic.
Mine's with me in eastern CT currently, otherwise I'd offer to bring it over to your place and let you crank it up.
