Well I'm trying my damnedest to not A. Waist more money / B. Buy another Z28. Fact of the matter is I have not seen another Gold Panel Z28 to purchase LOL
I think I have my english flare covered and I was looking at purchasing another amp. Leaning hard toward a Galaxie or a Nova. Any attributes that make one a better choice over the other?

Think of the NOVA as a MKII version of the Galaxy. Improvements and tweaks were added to the NOVA to make the channels more compatible, and the Master on the lead channel helped it all to work in a band situation. Instead of confusing and adding to a billion questions about a say Galaxy upgrade ( i.e. Galaxy MKII ) I rereleased the Nova after the Galaxy had stopped production for a while with these improvements in its channel switching ability and other tonal tweaks . Also upgraded Output Transformer. Both amps are great early USA tones the NOVA is a bit more say refined, the Galaxy is bit more raw. Take your choice .

Thanks Doc, that is the best response I could have gotten.

I think you would really enjoy the Nova. The Galaxie was my first Z amp and there are many ways to use and enjoy that amp. When I heard the Nova demo at the 30th Anniversary gathering the Galaxie personality was obvious, and obvious as well was the NEW flexibility and range of textures between clean and drive found in the newer iteration, the Nova.

I think Doc summed it up pretty well with saving his breath on the subject. The Galaxie was my first amp and I actually sold and brought it back again and then parted ways just a few months ago as I acquired the Nova.
I didn’t want to part with either but it didn’t make sense to keep both when I knew the Nova was going to get the most use now. Like the Doc said the Nova simply put is basically a mkII of the Galaxie.
The selling points for me were the overall versatility of the Nova far exceeded the Galaxie in terms of volume and tone control, effects loop control, and yes a more refined sound like Doc said. The Galaxie sounded more organic but also not as clean and defined as the Nova.
The most noticeable part of that was my pedal board running into the Nova over the Galaxie. The Nova made every pedal sound true to its sound, overdrives, distortions, FUZZ!, and the delay and reverb pedals sounded more HD. That’s what really sold me on the Nova.

Hum, i'll give myself a little time to chew on everyone's replies. Normally I would buy both and just shoot them out, but that is just not going to be an option this time around.

So I decided to go with the Galaxie, for some reason I feel like I have to know where it all began.

The Galaxie Arrive yesterday and the cabinet arrived today. I hooked it up and give a it a bit of a run through. There is not a lot to tweak, so it was easy to find a great sound, and it was pretty easy to balance out the two channels. The downside is its pretty damn loud, so i'll work with the brake lite tonight and try it with one of my little 1x12s. I got to say DRZ I favor the drive channel to my pedals. I'l spend more time and give a review.

I agree. The drive tone on the Galaxie is stellar!

It just wasn’t what I personally wanted in the end. I have stuck with the Z28 as my go to and dabbled in all things Z

So the Galaxie is very loud. Did you have an attenuator or a master ?

So the Galaxie is very loud. Did you have an attenuator or a master ? JJ Is t was indeed loud, big bottom end. I used a Brake Lite with it. The Nova would be the one I would pick between the Galaxie and Nova. The Z28MKII is very much an extension of the original just more of it . Doc did an amazing job with the MKII.
