Loving this Nova again. Tiniest of “problems” I’d like remedied: having the Distortion channel on requires the pedal to be plugged in. I don’t actually use the pedal, I just leave the Distortion on at all times and dial that channel’s volume up and down as I please for different songs (and even then hardly ever touch it). I’d love to have a way to leave that channel on without the pedal so I can leave the pedal at home instead of having it possibly bouncing around in the back of the amp during transport. Also, the 1/4” plug of the pedal sticks out beyond the back plate, therefore it has to be unplugged for transport each time so as not to risk damage. I tried plugging a 1/4” plug in there but that doesn’t do the trick. Any wise guys out there with a simple solution? Inquiring minds want to know.

I think a shorting plug will work. And you can get or make a 90 degree one so you can leave in it without risk of shearing it off.

Just solder the two poles together? Thanks! Figured that was the solution, but wanted to hear from those more knowledgeable than me. Plus, hoped the Doc would chime in!

I bought a cheap binocular case on Amazon to put my footswitch in. It was cheap and worked great! I have one for the footswitch for my Cure as well.

In that case, just do as recommended above and use or make a shorting plug.

Shorting plug is the easy way to go. I used a 1/4" plug that had a short barrel so it wouldn't stick out.

Oh yeah. Science prevails. Just made a shorted plug - worked like a charm.
