Nice! Same rig I've been doing the Big Band with but I'm using my Heritage H535. I just restrung my Firebird and I'm going to take it to rehearsal tomorrow. It works surprisingly well for jazz too.

I’m sure you’ve seen tim lerch on YouTube…my fav tone w his tele is the firebird pickup, I bet it sounds just as good on your Gibson too.

Love, love, LOVE it! What happy and joyous music, playing, and tone. Wifey heard it and came over and sang along and that made it all the more fun too. The Ghia is really a special amp. Whenever I plug into it, I just kind of want to keep playing, and I can never really figure out why. It's really musical, rewarding, and just satisying. Like it responds well to what you put into it, like you hit it hard and it speaks, or play soft and it speaks in a different way. It just has this "something" to it. It's clear, but with tons of full harmonic content. I also truly appreciate the simplicity of it, and also that you can move the tone control all over the place and it sounds musical wherever it is set. Something about wattage available is just really in a sweet spot for having the tubes do some work, yet it doesn't kill you with volume. I should mention that I originally got an EZG with it's purpose being I just want a nice clean tone to sit and play the guitar by myself with, but the Ghia works better at that for me. It is the perfect amp for that, for me. Maybe worth adding a couple other notes. I love that thing in the Z1x12 closed back with a V30, with a Strat, tele, or my LP custom. I really don't like it with my same model and year 335 like yours, and it just sounds too gritty for me there with that guitar. So it's neat to see you doing the jazz thing with that guitar, plus the volume being a lot higher than what I would do, yet you sound fantastic. I'm typically around 9-9:30pm on the volume, and I also have a little more clean headroom there with a 5751 tube in V2 (phase inverter). Mike suggested I try it for kicks and I love it. I switched back to the 12ax7 somewhere along the way "just to see", but quickly went back to the lower output tube. You might try that for fun, and you might hate it, but I love it. It's a pretty drastic change to the tone and feel of the amp. Thanks for sharing.

The CG is def a touch sensitive amp tho…I’m still in relatively clean territory w the air brake, the 335 rolled back a lil and my light touch..,but my PRS DGT gets it dirty right off the bat. I keep my pickup height low too, maybe that’s the difference. I’ll have to experiment w tubes soon. As much as I love it w my 335, I’ll readily agree my strat is the more ideal partner for the Ghia.

The Ghia is one of the most responsive amps I've ever had in regards to different tubes and speaker choices. It reveals everything there is to be known about different guitars too. It really is an amazing amp. It's the first Dr.Z amp I ever plugged into, about 20 years ago. I couldn't believe how it sounded with just a Volume and Tone control. Back then I was raising my son and ending a 17 year bad marriage so it was a while before I could ever afford a Z. But that amp made a big impression on me. Love it.

Very nice playing and tone. What pups are in the Gibby, and what speaker is in the Ghia?

Nice tone. Is your shirt 100% cotton or a cotton/poly blend?
