Anybody have both these chorus pedals, or can describe any difference between them? I've got a nice vintage CE-2 that I use now and then. I did the mod to it so I can use a regular 9 volt power supply, and I replaced a couple of old electrolytic caps in it that were getting leaky. It sounds fine, but I'm curious if anybody could shed some light on the Waza. I haven't ever tried a Waza pedal, do they have improved buffers, or what...are they just built with better quality components than the old ones?

I can’t comment on the comparison as I don’t have the vintage CE-2. However, there is some circuit updates/tweaks and I’m pretty sure improved buffers is one (see the JHS video on the Waza series as Josh details the differences/similarities).
The one thing I like about the Waza is that it has selectable modes and the new mode is basically the CE-1. So you get a new CE-2 as well as a decent CE-1. As well, you get a switchable vibrato mode, if I recall.

Have the Waza, not the old one. I couldn't hear a difference in the Josh clip. He did skip the ce1 mode which is pretty cool. I'm guessing your older pedal is so close that it's not worth swapping, and who knows, maybe sounds better anyway. I quite like mine though, particularly using a tele and the Ghia for some reason. It's like that amp makes all the coolness of the pedal come alive. Highly recommended if you are playing Andy Summers parts. Maybe not so good for country or blues.

I haven't owned any Boss chorus pedals, but I really like the Maxon-made Ibanez CS9.
From the YT clips I've heard on the Waza chorus (or any of the others), I wouldn't hesitate to buy one.

Don’t have either, but I did have a CE-2 back in the day. 80’s? Early 90’s I later bought a TC SCF which sounds great but has an AC chord. It resides on a large board I seldom carry, so I was looking for a chorus for a small board. I bought a MXR M234 ($99 at Sweetwater). It reminds me of what I remember liking about the CE-2, Keep in mind that’s been 30 years since the CE-2, so take that with a grain of salt. The MXR more than fills my needs.

I don't have a chorus, but did get the Waza tuner pedal. The interweb folks say the bufferes are better on the Waza's. I think they're just different, not better than the TU-2 or regular TU-3. I'm sticking with my Barber Launch Pad for buffering.
