Well, just the rattle, actually. I've started getting a rattling sound from my Maz Jr 1x12. It has a glassy or metallic sound to it. (Imagine if you had 2 pieces of glass or metal on something that was causing them to vibrate together.) It seems to happen primarily when the reverb is turned up at all. (I get a little bit without the verb at higher volume.)
I discovered that I could reduce or stop the rattle by pressing on the tube shield on V4. I removed and re-seated the shield; this helped but the rattle is still there.
Any suggestions?

It sounds like a power tube rattle. I guess EL84's tend to do that. I have it in my Mini and sometimes in my Ghia.

I've tamed some of my rattle by putting tube dampers on my el84's. I bought a tube of high temp silicone at an auto parts store and ran 3 beads of silicone around each tube. One at the bottom, one in the middle, and one at the top. This will help, a tube of silicone costs about $6 at any auto parts store.

I'd say krusty is on the right track. I have found el 84 tubes to be a little noisy ( particularly with the peavey c30s for some reason) i generally find thought, they do quite down when you give them some time to fully warm up.

Well, my first thought was that it was the EL84's, too. But that wouldn't explain why pressing on the shield on V4 (12AX7, Reverb recovery) would reduce or stop the vibration. Any ideas on that?

Mine doesn't have reverb, so I'm not sure where that tube is located. If it is close to the 84's, it may be enough to dampen the chasis vibration. Just a guess...

Just swapped out V4 for a different 12AX7. Problem solved. If you hold the tube up to your ear and shake it you can hear the rattling sound.
