DRZ , I'm guessing that he might mean these (not my pic, just found it through Google as an example). They're like a "small MXR" knob with small skirts at their base.

Yes Top Hat knobs. I used them a lot in early production amps. As for the date of MAZ in question I would need the serial #. Especially the first letter that will determine the year of production.

K indicates it was made in 2000.
