In the last few weeks, my Mini Z started rattling/buzzing. I think it's getting progressively worse. It is extremely evident on certain notes, especially lower ranges. Sounds like its coming from the speaker but that feels tight. The power tube is loose. I can't get either tube out though. They both seem stuck. Today I played it for a few minutes then looked in the opening and it smelled really hot.
Some of these unwanted frequencies are coming out of the amp, can't hear it at quieter levels.
Also little nuts keep falling out of the amp. I bought it pre-owned but have had it for a year never gave me problems until recently. I moved cross country a few weeks ago so maybe it got bumped around a little?
Not sure if it's the tube or the speaker or something else but also don't know why I can't get the tubes out...

The tubes that are tough to remove may have some corrosion on the tube socket and tube pins. Yu may have to spray Deoxit around the base of the in order to break whatever bond has occurred.
I would recommend taking the chassis out of the cabinet and then go through and tighten all of the pots and any screws you can get to.
I would also replace the tubes while you are in there.
As far as rattling and buzzing, check the trim cap on the handle while you are playing. I have had that little cap on the handle cause and eerie rattle that sounded like a distortion from a tube.
Let us know what you find.

Handles on the top and bottom of the amp don't feel loose, I hold them tight and still get some buzz/rattle on both E octaves on low E and some other notes here and there. Power cord outlet feels a little loose but not much. Not sure where to go from here have a gig next month may take it to a tech.

To take out the chassis you need to remove the four screws on the top of the amp and the top back panel needs to come off also to slide the chassis (take the back panel off first). Not too difficult to get out but it make take a little effort if it's never been removed before.
Good luck!
p.s. - there are dangerous things inside the amp so be careful. If you're not comfortable take it to the tech.

I just moved to a new area so don't know any techs, going off reviews there's a place I could take it but a little afraid of someone messing up my Z...

If you let us know where you're at someone might have a suggestion as to amp techs.

Call the factory and see if you can send it in for a repair/tuneup. My son just did it with his Remedy and I have done it with other Z's as well. Always comes back like new!
