I wired a new Celestion speaker with new wire and it hums like a mother? Also, changed the input jack on my strat and it crackles a bit. I used new input jacks for both but bought inexpensive ones. Can this be causing both problems? If so, can you recommend a quality jack to use for both, or any other remedies?

Changing the speaker wire shouldn't cause any hum in your amp. The red flag to me is that you rewired your Strat. If you don't have a good ground it's gonna hum. I use Switchcraft jacks. Did you reverse the wires on the jack? That would do it for sure...good luck, hope this helps.

It hums with all my guitars, so I'm gonna get some switchcraft jacks and see if that helps. Thanks for the info !!!
