Trying to decide between the Z-Plus and the Nova. Playing 60's to 90's Rock & Roll, Blues, Country. Have been playing through a Fender Deluxe Reverb Reissue for years, but want something new. I play Strats and Teles. I've only been able to try a Nova and a Cure. Really liked the Nova, but no one in my area has a Z-Plus to try. I like that the Z-Plus has Reverb built in. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. (I'm posting this under both amps in the forum)
Thanks!!!

The Nova is going to give up a great tweed flavor of great overdrive and ballsy power. It's a fun, fun amp. The Z-Plus is a single ended amp that has incredible harmonics and is really quite flexible as far as going from a sweet, fat singing tone to a pretty "Funk 49" type of attitude. It has a lot of good usable tones in it.
That's not to take away from the Nova! It is no one trick pony, and I like to run the with the OD channel and control the amp's overdrive response from my guitar's volume and tone controls. It has a fine clean nature too, but it really shines when you get down and dirty with it.
Too bad you can't try out a Z-Plus in your area. Where are you located? There might be a Z-brother near that has one you could hear. Aside from that, check out all the clips you can and go from there.

I'm in Connecticut. It's too bad my local shop doesn't have a Z-Plus. I did like the Nova better than any of the other amps I tried while looking for new amp. I tried some Morgans, Mesa Boogies, Tone Kings and a Victory, but the Nova really has something special about it.
Thanks for your help!

I split my time between Westchester County (NY) and Old Saybrook (CT). I have both Zs you're interested in; at the moment, they're both in NY.

I'm in Litchfield County (New Hartford) What are your thoughts on the two amps? Do you prefer one over the other?
Thanks

I'm in Litchfield County (New Hartford) What are your thoughts on the two amps? Do you prefer one over the other? Thanks I like them both, but they're pretty different. I'll be back in NY next week. If you'd like, I can do a side-by-side "fresh look" and report back.
In normal times, I'd invite you to visit and try both amps with your own guitars.

In a few weeks/months you can get the Z-Plus. Congratulations on the new amp(s).
