Anybody using one of these? I'm in love with this late 90's/2000's Greenback that I have and I want to load my other 1x12 with a Greenback Style Speaker.

I never have. I do love M style greenbacks though for certain applications. I have a reissue and a Creamback M.
Maybe go for like a H style Greenback in your other cab? Give you a different voicing and then could even run cabs together a blend.

It currently has a G12H30 in it. I've tried my goto speakers like the 40/40 Tone Tubby, CV65 Emi, RF Alnico and Ceramic Emi's, and even a RWB's Emi. They all sound great, I like all of them, but I like the extra character of the Greenback and less throw or attenuation of DB's. Other Greenbacks have been less effictient this one just seems to be slightly louder without being extra aggressive. Some speakers just have it, that is why I have so many!

I had one in an Avatar cab that I picked up to pair with an Orange Tiny Terror a long time ago. I really liked that speaker. I don't remember if I ran anything else through it or not.

I've used the Green Beret, specifically with a Z-28. I thought it was awesome... really fit that amp well (I tend to be a big fan of the M-magnet Celestion speakers and their clones). Just a very relaxed, musical, and balanced speaker--not too hyped up in any one direction; still very musical and has that "woodiness" that sort of defines the Greenback series of speakers.

Thanks for your insight everyone, I like the WGS Stuff so I think I will pick one up and try it out. I put my old TT 40/40 in the 19x19 today and A/B'ed both cabs with the Z28 and they both sound similar yet different. Nothing beats a speaker that has been broken in to pure perfection.

I have one. I haven't used it in years...but it's in a small cube closed back 1x12. It's my take on a closed back 4x12...without the 4...without the weight and size!
The greenback is my favorite speaker, and from what I remember, the Green Beret was quite good. I can't say if it's an exact db match as I never paired it with a real greenback.

Thanks, so far I left the Greenback in the cabinet that I received it in and put it under my Ghia. I took the other cabinet and put my tone tubby 40/40 back in it and paired it with my Z28. Putting the Green Beret on hold for the moment.

Well, I got $20 from GC to spend and they have a 8ohm GB. Ended up getting it for the same prices as the cheapest one I could find on the internet. Speakers are tough, everyone outsourced to China and are having trouble getting supplies.
