Based on my recommendation of Dr Z amps, my friend/bandmate just bought a Cure. He wasn’t satisfied with his Blues Jr and Mesas (Studio 22 and 5 25 Express) and I’ve been touting Z amps since I bought my Ghia in 2016. On top of that I just bought a new Nova combo (there’s a thread in that forum) and am really liking that so far too.
The day I ordered my Nova last week he was mentioning his dissatisfaction and describing what he was looking for in an amp. I recommended the Cure and the Maz. Sent him a few YouTube links of each and he was sold on a Cure within a few hours. It just arrived last night he just texted me this morning saying how much he loves it. Not sure if he’ll sign up here or not, but just wanted to share with you guys.

I've owned and gigged several Maz amps. As much as I like them, the Cure does it for me. Good job "converting" your friend!

The Cure is a great amp! You can’t go wrong with it!

Truth be told I’ve had the Cure on my radar since it came out, then was on the Wreck Jr and almost bought that...then the Nova came along as a dark horse and I’m really happy with it so far, but I’m really looking forward to playing the Cure for the first time and would definitely consider adding it to the arsenal eventually.

I had a Mesa Express 5:25 when I bought my Cure. I actually went to the shop to try and buy a Fillmore 25 to replace the Express. I tried it and didn't like it and they recommended that I try the Cure. I hesitated, saying that the Dr. Zs that I played were heavy and felt stiff and sounded bright. They assured me that the Cure wasn't heavy or stiff. I tried it and loved it.
I sold the Mesa Express 5:25 and went back months later to try another Fillmore 25 (still no love). I ended up buying a Mesa Mark Five:25 1x10" Combo. That's an awesome amp and different enough from the Cure that it's nice to have. They're both awesome "grab and go" amps. The Boogie does what the Cure can't and the Cure does what the Boogie can't. If I could only keep one of the two, I'd keep the Cure.
I bought a used Dr. Z Nova some time later and love that too. It's a whole 'nother thing.

We share some commonalities in amps Don A (btw I’m a Don B lol). I also had a Markv25 but sold it after getting my Ghia. And the Fillmore was on my list of possible amps as well. Not having any 2nd thoughts with my Nova but very interested in trying the Cure tonite and looking forward to comparing the two. Can’t wait actually.

I have a Cure and a Nova and love em! If I were to buy another Mesa, it would be the MkV25 1-10 combo. I had a MkV25 head but have moved on from head/cab rigs.

The timing of this thread is good for me. I've been on a bit of an amp jag for the past year or so. Been interested in a mesa that could sound like a Mark I or Mark IIC but lower volume and many times surfed the web looking at new, lower powered Mesa's. Reading your responses has turnewd me away from pursuing them. That and being unemployed, for now. I'll stick with gigging my Cure or Therapy and rehearsing with my Maz. Always happy with those amps anyway.

The Mesa Mark Five:25 1x10" combo is a really cool amp. Great cleans, nice Mark IIC+ and Mark IV type dirty sounds, but... it's not a low volume amp (though it's definitely quieter than a full size Mark)! The channel master has to be opened up a bit to get a really good dirty sound. By then it's at about 105-110 db (measured on my iPhone about 4 feet away from the speaker). It's loud! Switching from 25 watts down to 10 watts (pentode to triode) lowers the volume but makes the amp sound worse at low volume. The 10 watt mode is better for high volume use where it makes the amp sound more vintage like- squishier and more forgiving. I tell people that it's more of a "grab and go jam session amp" than a "bedroom amp".
The Cure sounds good at lower volume than the MkV:25- it's a better "bedroom amp", but to be honest, I haven't played a tube amp that sounds great below 90db or so.

I love my cure .... I’ve had vintage fender deluxe, Princeton’s and they sounded good but for me the cure can do everything they do and more and better.

I love the reference to DBs here... that's something we can compare vs the usual "bedroom volume" term. I don't know your bedroom; and you don't know mine (at least I don't think you do... if you do, I might have other problems than amp DBs).
