I know the remedy is solid state rectified and I’ve already seen the posts that inquire about a tube rectifier that note this is not possible. I love the amp but I would like a bit more sag. I recently saw a Rick Beato video about the “Brown Sound” and using a variac. My understanding is that the variac controls the voltage and that by doing so you can reduce voltage and increase sag. Would using a variac with a solid state rectified amp like the Remedy allow the user to produce more sag?

If you are thinking of using the variac to control DC volts it will not work since it is a transformer and transformers need AC to produce an output. If you are thinking of using it to lower the line voltage into your amp I suspect that you will not get the DC voltage sag you are looking for either. You will however be possibly running the amp at a lower line voltage than it was designed for, which can be a bad thing. Bottom line for me is that I would not use a variac to lower the line voltage into my amp.
