I don't see a recent thread on this....so who owns one, which one do you have and finally what are the quirks you discovered when you first got yours?

I am interested in these too-There is a few different types/string set ups/tuneings.it would lead to creative new ideas I think.I sometimes have a guitar tuned to "Keef",or Nashville, and it makes old ideas fresh again. About 5 years ago I had a Squier Bass VI that I loved, but it wouldn't stay in tune.I would buy again though.

I had an "Esquire" bari built a few years back...to play one song from the album live. The problem is I rarely load it and it doesn't get played. Like a tool in the toolbox waiting to be used. It sounds wonderful and does the part well...I should really play it more!

I had a Reverend Descent RA for a little while. What I liked about it was that its bridge placement and scale length were seemingly designed specifically for baritone (rather than just a guitar with a longer neck). The strings too--with its plain 3rd string--are specifically laid out for that guitar.
The Reverend, specifically, I liked for baritone use because it has not only a standard tone control (hi-end roll-off) but also a contour knob that rolls-off bass, too. Very handy when you're down in such a low register.
The bad thing is that I simply couldn't get over the feeling that I was trying to play guitar stuff on a bass. I mean, yeah all the finger shapes and note locations transfer down, but I couldn't get MY style of playing to transfer into the lower registers. Everything seemed a bit muddy and blurry.
Here's a good resource, if you haven't found him already--the YouTube channel is "Chords Of Orion" and this is one of his baritone guitar-specific videos:
I can't recall which amp I used the most with it... You're gonna want something that's got a strong low-end. Perhaps a bass amp, actually. I believe I brought mine to mini-MI Z-fest and demo'ed it through the new Surgical Steel into a Z-Best in front of Doc. That was cool! That amp just made a lot of sense to me with that guitar.
But in the end, I just got tired of trying to chase down what to actually use it for and I simply gave chasing that idea. I'd like to have one again someday.. ya know, when I have tons of room and unlimited funds so I can just own everything.

Oh, and since I'm no Mateus Asato, I saw this and said, "Nope, I'm done. There is nothing more I can contribute to baritone than this. He wins."
