I posted this in a thread on the Z-Lux section, but I thought I would share my first impressions of this speaker with the Z-Lux. I have that Eminence in my Deluxe Reverb, and decided to swap speaker cables between the two amps to see how the Z-Lux sounded through it.
Whoa! It made a massive change to the character of the sound... and honestly I like it more.
I've only had my Z-Lux for about a week, so I'm learning it's range and sounds.
The Z-Lux is somewhat Fender-like, but a bit peaky to my ears in the highs, with a fairly aggressive mid to high-mid cut. It's also impressively tight in the bass, which again makes it sound more aggressive when overdriven.
With the SC64, the low end gets extended (feels like there's more lows) and feels looser, but in a characterful sort of way. Same with that aggressive midrange. Where I almost wanted to describe it as sounding Marshall-like in the high mids with the Z12, the SC64 reigns that in, rounds the highs in a balanced way, and makes me feel like it has more character. Basically, sounds less aggressive (which I sometimes perceive as sterile) and has warm character to it.
An interesting experiment. I will try to record a comparison at some point and share.

Glad you're diggin' it. I'm a fan of that speaker. As I've mentioned in other threads, if I'd tried the GA-SC64 with the Z-Lux or EZG-50 when I had them I might still have those amps.
I do like the Z-12 speaker better in my Cure though.
