I have one of these...
I bought it new in 1978...and it's been sitting in a box for 40 years. (I did take it out a few years ago, and it still works) You can see from the ebay listing, apparently they're going for big money. Or should I say 'listed' for big money. Every few years, I think about the pedal, and I look at ebay. Usually asking lots of money.
I stopped selling on ebay years ago, so I don't have access to my account. (I don't remember my password, and the old email I used won't work.) Something like this needs the national attention of ebay rather than a local CL.
Even the CLONES are listed at $800!!!

Josh @ JHS seems like he'd be game. Though, he might already have one... or two... or a real problem.
Or there's always this guy:
I wonder though... do you "need" to sell it? Or could you hang tight and see how high the market prices climb eventually?

Is that just a “one time” post, or is that a consistent scenario? There are 5 watchers. If I had one I’d take advantage of current demand, take my money and never look back.

Just as an example I owned a gold horsey Klon for a long time. I bought it new in the '90's and I swore I would never sell it. I paid $350 for it. Prices got so crazy on them that I finally listed it on the forum BST for $1000 just to see what happened. A forum member quickly jumped on it. I actually felt a little guilty at the time. Not any more. $4500? That is just nuts. I'm still glad I sold it then. I spent the money on other gear for which I had more use. I look at most of my gear as tools, not an investment.

I believe Fulltone makes the Octa Fuzz as a clone, or close copy of this pedal, the older BIG BOX versions of his pedal are starting to demand higher dollars as well. There are people out there who want them for sure. The sky is the limit people will pay what they will pay. If you have no need for it there is no reason you shouldn't capitalize on the current demand, put it up and take offers or put a price your comfortable with on it and see what happens!

Other than Reverb, I don't know. But if you find out, let me know. I've got an EH Electric Mistress (v.2) and a Stereo Memory Man I'm thinking of letting go.

I can't believe how much people are spending on some of these pedals. It really blows my mind. Go get 'em John!

I can't believe how much people are spending on some of these pedals. It really blows my mind. Go get 'em John! Me too. Almost all of them are being accurately cloned by at least one builder. With better quality components with more consistent values which minimizes variation from one pedal to another. All at usually lower prices.

So many fabulously-wonderful (not to mention expensive!) guitars are being built nowadays, but the 60-year-old "vintage/original" ones still command even more $$$ in resale value. Similarly, so many fabulously-wonderful amps are being built nowadays, too--not to mention all the pedals, etc. And yet, here we are...

Well, if you really wanna sell it get a hold of Josh at JHS pedals. He's a big time collector and could very well be interested. Just a thought.

I imagine that those listed prices are supper pie in the sky prices. If I had something like that I think I would decide what I wanted to purchase with the proceeds. Then I could list it at a lower price than others and have a greater likelihood of it selling. Then when I was enjoying whatever I got with the funds I wouldn't blink if it sold for $3,500 because I got something that was more important to me than having a vintage pedal in a box.
Whatever you do, that's really cool. I wonder if there will be anything similar 40 years from now. I have a hard time understanding the pedal market in particular. Seems like the bubble will burst at some point.

That is what I said about the vintage guitar market 30 years ago and look where we are with that.

I don't really pay attention to the Klon market, but watched the JHS Show on it yesterday. Not that I had $1,000 when I was seeing them listed at that, but man I can't believe they are going for $5k now. I thought the price was stupid and never imagined within 10-11 years it would be 4-5x the price. You probably should ignore my previous post, clearly I'm uninformed about how the market is.

I don't really pay attention to the Klon market, but watch the JHS Show on it yesterday. I caught some of it too. He had 2200 live viewers at some point, and they did a fantastic job with the stream. In particular I thought it was fun how he swapped a number of pedals with the original Klon and you really couldn't tell the difference.

My email seems to have been read by at least a couple of guys at the place. Turns out they already have one. But they said they thought I should ask for more money. I guess I'll get a Reverb account and try to sell it there.

Better yet, John , I wonder if you can find a Hendrix-centric gear forum--you know, guitarists hell-bent on sounding exactly like Hendrix. I know for sure people obsess ad nauseum over sounding exactly like EVH, David Gilmour, SRV, etc... There's gotta be some Hendrix-o-philes out there too. If anybody would pay an exorbitant amount of money for that pedal, it might be one of them(?).

I guess I'll get a Reverb account and try to sell it there. They seem to be a good crew there. I say that not only from the YouTube stuff, but for a while they were selling on a regular basis on Reverb. Occasionally it was JHS pedals, but more often stuff they probably had for tone testing and even some of Josh's personal gear. I interacted with them on a couple guitars they had up and ended up buying a MJT tele that was Josh's. Super fair to deal with and just genuinely love gear, the industry, and the customers who make it all go round. I love that they gave you straight up advice about what they think you might be able to get.

I was looking at Analogman for something else and stumbled across this. Says they mostly buy for their museum collection. Your pedal is listed here. www.analogman.com/want.htm
