Hi everyone,
I'm considering a Jetta, the Z-Lux didn't work out for me. Not tight enough on the low end, a bit splattery.
I mostly play humbuckers for my go-to sound, 335, Explorer, Les Paul, nothing high output, mostly standard PAF styles.
How's the Jetta for humbuckers? Does it hold together?
Thanks,

Not a lot of humbuckers out there? Was it something I said?
Most of the videos I have seen with the Jetta involve Teles and other single coil guitars, there's not enough humbucker video out there to get a real feel for the amp's character.

Mostly a bucker here. Drop-C and still seem to have plenty of clean headroom with the Lux. But there are many variables in the equation. Got nothing on the Jetta except that seems very stout. But I’d doubt if it could hang with Lux on 40 watts.
Id look at the EZG-50 for maximum punch.

hmmm, there are lots of Jetta players out there, never really noticed if they were all single coil players though. If the Zlux bottem end was too lose for you I'm not sure what to recomend. What style of music do you play? PAF's can be a little lose on the bottom so it might not be the amp. I'm sure someone will chime in Todd

Jetta humbucker player here. I love this amp! Not sure what you mean about holding together. Lots of bass though. Unexpected since it's an open back combo. I run it with volume around 3:00 (nice crunch with guitar on 10) and the master around 10:00. These are my settings for live gigs with a drummer. Hope that helps!

Also, you can get more girth by running 5881s in the Lux.

I'm new to the Jetta. I've had mine for about 2 months now.
I've been using humbucker and P-90 guitars with my Jetta combo. I've found it to have a nice mid-range that cuts through the mix good. I've not experienced any issues with flubby bass.

Okay, now we're talking. I play rock music, country, blues, and whatever else I write. I'm not trying to get metal tones. I use a Timmy for much of my rhythm work, and a Gain Changer for soloing. That combination has worked well on nearly all of the different Z amps I've owned over the years, and lots of other brands as well. It is really good with my non MV Remedy.
The Z-Lux was never good, weird reverb, way too much, and a splattery low end. I re-tubed it, fussed with preamp and power tubes. I didn't want to send it in as I had lost too much money on it already, so I sold it. I was hoping the Maz + Remedy idea would work, but it was flatulent.
That's why I'm interested in the Jetta. I'm pretty sure it will be good with humbuckers, only 2 preamp tubes to keep it straight, not all gainy, but it's good to ask around. Besides, I'm not so into reverb, and I never find time for the trem, so simple healthy tones are all I need.
Thanks everyone, Swampcooler
