After a decade of using pedals to overdrive my Maz 38, mainly Timmy or Blues Driver with telecasters and BB Preamp MB or OCD with Les pauls, now I'm using no effects with the telecaster (volume/master and eq.), but need something to drive les pauls (R6 and R8) a little more, think Blackberry Smoke to Supersuckers, Social Distortion... sound.
I own a Fulldrive, an Archer Ikon, plus the mentioned previously. I'm testing a Diamond trémolo as a booster, but I've got a Micro Amp too.
Any advices?

Xotic RC Booster. Tom Bukovac uses a plain old Boss GE-7 with a slight boost at 800Hz and the Level set to kick his amp a little harder. He is not unique in using that.

I guess it depends on what you want the OD pedal to do. If you want to just add some grit to your base tone, I'd use (and I DO use) the Timmy, with the BD a close second. If you need some extra bottom end, try the new Nobels ODR-1. If you decide to try the GE-7 you'll most likely want to have it modded or buy one from XTS. They reduce the noise floor and re-center the sliders to emphasize midrange.
There are so many choices in OD's you can spend a fortune buying them. Good luck and let us know what you land on.
