Does anyone have experience with Dillion guitars? The "made for USA" versions. I mean actual personal experience. Not info off the web. Thanks.

I just bought one of these, used. A Tele copy. I've got some high end guitars but I have always had a weak spot for taking cheap guitars and turning them into good workhorses. Pretty easy to do with a Tele. The previous owner already replaced the the bridge pickup with a Duncan Antiquity. The bridge and tuners are Wilkinson stuff which is not bad. I won't mind "hacking" it to put a humbucker or P-90 in the neck position. I certainly did not want to do that with my Nocaster. As is normal though with instruments of this level it needs the nut re-cut. Overall it is a pretty solid piece.

A friend of mine just moved up to Washington last week. I helped he and his wife pack up and move from their 2 bedroom apartment to move to a smaller one up North. He unfortunately had too many guitars to take, so he did give me a Cortez J200 (Gibby copy) that is actually a pretty nice acoustic. I knew nothing about them but I found out that they do have a small following of admirers. I imagine the Dillion axes are the same way!
