I have an older MAZ Jr. with no jack for an extension speaker. Is there any way to connect another cab and still use the speaker in the amp at the same time?

None of them have an extension speaker jack. What you have to do is use a Y cord. Your extension speaker needs to be the same impedance as the combo's internal speaker. Plug the amp's internal speaker and the extension cab both into the Y cord. The plug the Y cord into the jack that is 1/2 the value of the individual speakers. Example: both speakers are 8 ohms. plug the Y cord into the 4 ohm jack. Note: Don't use a headphone Y cord. The wires are too small. Some use the hard plastic Y adaptor from Radio Shack. There's a good thread somewhere else (maybe under Maz 38?) that takes you thru the whole thing and what the other guys are doing about it.

Reverend used to sell a Y cord at a great price, you may want to email them to see if they have any left. They got out of the amp business and don't carry as many items as they previously carried but they are friendly and good to deal with. They may have one somewhere. www.reverendguitars.com/

I don't think they have any more. They've sold off most of their spare parts and I'm pretty sure those Y-cables went quickly.

Hi, Mine's an 03 and has an 8 and a 4 ohm jack. I assume your speakers leads come out of the bottom of the amp and there is no jack? It should be VERY easy to install one on the back panel,. I'd insrtall two and put a 1/4 jack on the leads going to the existing speaker and plug in into one of them, leaving the other for an extension cabinet. Just make sure your secondary speaker load is 8 ohms unless you want to unhook your internal one, then you could go with a 4 ohm cab.. Mark Humphrey Humphrey Audio

Here's what I'm using with my Maz Jr. 1x12 combo and 1x12 exension cab: procablesnsound.com/browse_item_details.asp/Item_ID/623649Todd over at PCNS is a great guy, he started making these cables specifically for us Z users wanting to do what you're doing. The quality is top notch, I wouldn't use anything else. Oh yeah, use "zamps" as the special offer code to get a Z user discount -Greg

Hey guys, thanks for all the suggestions. I just received a Weber Z-Matcher a couple of days ago. Can I use that?. If so, how do I fit it into the chain?
