I find that I'm going through V3 and V4 reverb tubes rather quickly, more so V3. I do use the amp almost every day. I'm a guitar teacher and I run a project studio, so amp is used a fair amount. In general I have always found reverb tubes don't usually last as long as other preamp tubes..in other amps I have or have had. I've been using NOS 6201's from the tube store for v3 and it lasts longer than JJ or EHX 12AT7 types. All others are what's recommend from Dr Z (apparently) from the Tube Store here in Canada. I don't think anything is wrong with the amp...sounds too good. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the Forum! A lot of good people and information here. Here are the recommended tubes that Doc has on his website for the Maz 18 Reverb.
Maz 18 (reverb) V1: JJ ECC83S, V2: JJ ECC83S, V3: JJ ECC81, V4: 12AX7/ECC83, V5: Sovtek 12AX7LPS, V6/7: NOS 6N14N (EL84 – matched pair), V8: Sovtek 5AR4
Recommended Bias Point: Cathode Biased (no re-biasing necessary)
Fuse Value: 1.5A 250V SLO 1.25″ x .25″
Also check the tube postings to see what other people have had luck with.

Thanks. Maybe I'll try JJ ECCs for V3 again, they certainly arent the most expensive here at the Tubestore..

Since you're in Canada, thetubestore is a good choice. As I mentioned before, the JAN Philips 12AT7 has been a good choice for me the reverb driver in both MAZ and Fender amps - very durable. tubedepot.com/products/12at7wc-jan-philips.

Have you checked and cleaned the tube sockets recently? I would recommend spraying deoxit into the tube socket and then inserting and removing the tube a couple of times. Also check for proper tension. Seems unlikely the tubes themselves would fail frequently in just these positions. Also, clean the reverb cable jacks on the chassis and reverb tank with deoxit. Same thing, spray and insert the cable a couple of times.

Thanks for suggestion, I recently saw a Dr. Z Video, regarding maintenece and I just did what you suggested as well as tightening up pots and spraying connection to chasis. I only cleaned reverb tank jacks on chasis...going to do tank as well now. My Maz is a 2009 model , which I bought second hand from a reputable music store here in 2013 and I have never done Maintence till now. Tube tension seems good...I don't know how to re-tension tubes. After mainetence things seem good. We shall see....I really appreciate your reply. Cheers!
