Well I finally came to some realizations last year. Yes I love electric, but one amp, a great guitar and my Maz 18 are what I really need. I also play a lot more acoustic. So it took almost a year, but I sold a lot of gear, including my custom shop Martin. Great tone, but I hated the tiny neck. After a lot of research I knew I wanted a Collings D1 with a 1.75” nut. I wanted and made some offers knowing I would find something great at my budget if I was patient. If I could land a sun burst that would be a bonus. This guy came into the shop I bought it from on a trade. I’m really not sure it has much of any play time. Even with a torrified top I could tell out of the case that it wasn’t very loose. This is a wonderful instrument and is getting a touch more open even with a couple hours. I have to get it in for pickup installation so I can hear it through the Maz who has alway done well with my acoustics. http://instagram.com/p/CEM-4dJncEQ

Score. I’ve never played a bad Collings. Less is more for those of us who like to really bond with our guitars and amps. The more we play them, the more we understand and bond with them.....they become an appendage.

My goodness! A few days in and I’m bonding big time as I learn how this Beaty wants to be played. Oh baby.
