While moving, all my amps got unplugged and the cords put together. I’m unloading my JR head and nervous about sending the correct cord with it. Sorry for the noob question but help!

Look and see what gauge the cables are. most people use 12 or 14 gauge. I believe some also use 16 or as thick as 10 gauge. I don’t believe any of them will hurt. the power cable diameter is another one of those “all over the board” discussions just like speaker cables. personally I use Mercury magnetics cables.

Z uses a fairly thick cord, and they are usually 12'

Z amps typically come with a 12ft 16awg power cord.

If you are trying to google it, it’s called an IEC cable

I should clarify, I have a z wreck AND a z wreck JR.
My concern is using the correct cord for both but have no knowledge of voltage, amperage or any of that stuff. I assume the cord with the marked higher voltage thresh hold would be the higher wattage amp? I know it might sound dumb, I just don’t want to blow my amps up LOL

I’ve never heard of anything like that. The cord will only pull what the wall provides. Any iec power chord will work.

Ah! That helps maybe? I know one is a big longer than the other. I’d assume the z wreck JR would be the shorter for some reason

Length is just a convenience matter. Gauge (thickness of the wire in the power cable) is important so that the cable can handle the current. And, of course, the connectors have to be correct. Perry’s info above is what you want. You should have 2 of the Doc’s cables in your bundle of cables - you may have others that are 16awg, and those would be fine also. Candidly, after a while my power cables get mixed up - it really doesn’t matter as long as all of them are of decent quality and gauge.

Yes, but to be clear, the cable could be 12ft, 20ft, 8 ft or two feet. And it would not matter. Length is not a factor in it working properly.
Neither is Guage to a degree. Anything from 12 Guage to 18 Guage would work fine. The lower the Guage though, the more rugged the cable will be.
Don’t fret over getting the “wrong” type.

Ah! That helps maybe? I know one is a big longer than the other. I’d assume the z wreck JR would be the shorter for some reason No. Really it just comes down to what length manufacturers want to include. In the old days of Doc’s combos with the attached power cord, Doc used a long run so that the amp could be connected a receptacle that my be a ways away but could easily be coiled inside the amp for storage. Don’t overthink it. If the power cable has a 3 prong plug at the end it will do just fine. It you want to include one similar to what it shipped with just look for 16awg imprinted at one end. Sometimes there is a white tag wrapped at one end of the newer cables that would say something similar to "...max rated for 13 amps, 125 volts and 1625 watts", etc.
