I've said it once, and now I'll say it again, this amp is just incredible. I'm off work today and no one is here this morning, so I had a rear opportunity to open this amp up. For me, opening up means to get the MV on about 10:00. It is really loud at that volume. Many of you know that I've aquired a couple of Heritage H-535s (Heritage's equivalent to the Gibson ES-335) and if it's possible, have become even happier with this amp. The range of clean to overdrive tones are amazing! With the V at 11:00, the amps is just breaking up and gives forth a great bluesy tone. At noon, you reach blues rock territory. At 1:30 - 2:00, you reach Plexi territory. 3:00 gets you into the '80s. Need a clean tone while rocking? Turn the guitar volume down. You will be very surprised how this amp cleans up. For me, the most dynamic, touch sensitive setting is at noon. The dynamic range is WIDE. It is perfect for these two 535's at that setting. It has the tone! Rich tone! Nice cleans, and smooth, and I mean SMOOTH, overdrive! Plug straight in and enjoy! It needs nothing else. I can't wait until the band can gig again.

That's sayin' it and then some Russell! Beautiful photo of "The Heritage" pair w/ The Jr. Nice write-up too. Interesting that the 535 on the left , has an almost Gretsch Orange tint to the red.
cheers!

I'm mainly a Telecaster player, and we all know how great this amp matches up with a Tele's single coils, but I wasn't having much luck with my guitars with humbuckers.
I installed a set of Monty's PAF pickups in my Gibson '57 Les Paul Goldtop, and instantly the guitar and amp became the best of friends, and gave me such an effortless breakup tone without any hint of harshness like the Burstbuckers were giving me.
I find I have to lower the gain down to 10-11 o'clock on the amp when playing my Goldtop, as opposed to between 12-1 for my Tele, and then I can go anywhere with a twist of the guitar's volume knob or I just hit the guitar harder! Haven't had a chance to raise the master anywhere near 10 o'clock, so i'm envious that you have a chance to do this at home, where i'll have to wait until I get back into rehearsals before I can unleash that sort of power!
Love the fact that you've got 2 of exactly the same guitar, well one's got a scratchplate, so there's that. Gotta have a backup hey!
