Made a quick vid of some of the tones.
Again.. the sound recorded is somewhat compressed and a tad muddy compared to the sound I am getting in the room. Doing the best with the equipment that I have so appologies in advance. That and the amature playing!
Got too much time on my hands due to isolation!

Sounds great to me! The Cure is a great amp.

How would you compare the WGS speaker to the Z speaker?

More of a rounded sound over all with the ET-90. Smoother and most importantly sweeter high end. Plenty bright enough and plenty low end there too.
After spending a few nights with it I definitely prefer it over the stock speaker.
With the stock speaker I just couldn't loose myself when playing blues along to backing tracks / loops. I found it too 'spikey' for a better word in the high frequency range. Changing the T,M,B wouldn't dial this out.
That's gone with the ET-90. I am absolutely loving the tones I am getting with it. I am so glad this spikiness is in the speaker and not the amp itself. It feels like this speaker is made for this amp.
The ET-90 breaks up quite a bit later. Even smoother OD than with the stock speaker. Less OD overall when maxing the Vol and master. Doesn't bother me either way but worth keeping in mind if you want to try one. I.e if you rely on purely amp OD tones then you will be getting less with this speaker. For dirty blues it's spot on IMO. If you wanted more clean head room, this is a no brainer.
Also excellent with higher gain - stacking pedals. Again I prefer these tones with the ET-90.
I have one more speaker to try today. Not that I need to, but it's sitting there so it will bug me if I don't. I'm sure the ET will go back in when I am done testing.
Celestion A-Type. Literally just installed it. It's brand new so I have left it with my Hifi plugged in playing a blues track at low volume to help break it in. I will update the thread later if anyone is interested.
Oh I also swapped out V1 and V2 with 2 Cryo HARMA 12ax7's that I have so they may make a difference too. Again I have felt no need to change them but I have them sitting there so why not eh.
It's sucha shame that I can't capture the tones with my recording setup. I re watched my you tube vid today and the sound is too compressed and a little muddy. I may retry recording with the mic in different positions in front of the speaker as the recordings (and my amateur chops) don't do it justice.
