My main guitar is usually a ‘50’s Tele of some sort - I have a few banged up, parts Teles from that era. I’ve owned a Tom Anderson S (Strat) for 24 years now and have had it out lately, and the thing really rocks and plays like a charm. Am getting a Tom Anderson T (Tele) next week, as I’ve never played one. Gonna order one with my specifications, too, but that won’t be here for 6 months or more.
wondering if anybody else here plays these guitars, and what you think of them!

Played one in shop a while back that I loved. Ended up ordering one on Reverb but had a hassle with the shop in Canada and no way to convert Reverb Bucks into other currency. So it didn't happen. That one was great in concept, had the Nashville Tele set up with the middle pick up.
I've very torn right now. I will likely be moving my Suhr because I'm not enough of a humbucker guy to have a guitar with two and wishing 60% of the time I had a little more bite in one of my pick ups. If I do that it will either be an Anderson T, with a humbucker in the neck or a Duesenberg Starplayer.

After playing a 80's LP custom as my main guitar for many years I bought a Tom Anderson T and absolutely love it. The workmanship is better than any other guitar I have tried and it feels really good in my hands. I did replace the pickups with Lollars, the TA pickups weren't terrible just didn't have enough "personality". I would love to get another one with single coils to use as my second guitar. I hardly ever play my LP now.

I got a Tom Anderson classic back in 1990. Sunburst with two single coils and a humbucker in the bridge. Had a friend that worked for Tom back then and he built the guitar for me. Got to visit the shop and pick out my blank for the guitar. Tom was a very nice guy. I will have to say this is the best guitar I have ever owned. Still have it and have been playing it at church every Sunday. Plays like butter--the set up and attention to detail and craftsmanship of the guitar is just outstanding IMO. I just got the five way switch, one tone control, and the volume knob. There are many options, but I went with a pretty simple layout. The pickups on the guitar are outstanding and I even put some of the same pickups in my telecaster cause I like them so much. My guitar is very light cause I picked a light blank. I got a tremolo bridge and although I do not use it much, it stays in tune when I do use it. I use 10's on it. The only thing i would do different if i had to do it over would be to get a rosewood neck instead of maple. Over the years I have come to the conclusion that I like the feel of rosewood better and it is not as bright as the maple. i feel very lucky and blessed to have such a guitar and have enjoyed it since I have owned it.

Yeah, I’ve had this Strat style piece for over 20 years, and it has superb craftsmanship in the build, the pickups are superb, plays like a charm. I’ve let go of several ‘50’s strats in the past, but kept this one, and have used it for all Strat sound recordings and been totally happy with the results. I have it wired to get the neck + bridge combination to make it a little Tele like and that setting kills. I have bought a Tele style off Reverb, will be in next week, and I’ll log in about that one once it comes in, comparing to my fave ‘57 Tele. Gonna order one with a V’ed neck and tremolo (as you said, works superbly and stays in tune very well), debating whether to get a middle pickup in it to max it out as an “all night guitar. I’ve spoken several times now with Tom Anderson (he answers the phone!) and pummeled him with questions - super nice guy, patiently answers any and all questions. Would love to see his shop.

I have two Tom Anderson electric guitars. One is a Strat style and the other is a Tele style. The craftsmanship is flawless. I also like the design of how the neck and body of the guitars are joined together to create a "V" shaped pocket. Both guitars feature noiseless pickups (SC series for the Strat style and M series for the Tele style) and have very fine tone. The playability and sustain of both instruments is outstanding.

Oh. I forgot to revisit this thread after getting the Anderson Classic T in! As if anybody will see this entry. These Anderson guitars are maybe the only modern guitars that feel like real quality to me, though I’ve never played Collings or Suhr guitars. This Classic T I’ve acquired is simply superb in playability and tone. I enjoy it in my hands and through my amps every bit as much as I enjoy my 1957 Tele, my main guitar for 30 years now! This one has noise canceling pickups and their “standard” neck. I enjoy it so much that I’m going to order one to my specifications with a V’ed neck, hollowed body, and a whammy bridge to make it the perfect gig guitar for all purposes! In Fiesta red! These guitars rock.

I love my Anderson classic T. The guitar literally sings with my Z Cure amp. I play most genres of music minus metal and it covers it all. It’s my favorite guitar and I have or have had...Gibson’s, Suhr, fender

Hey guys. Not that anybody’ll see this thread again, but since last checking in I’ve acquired a Tom Anderson Raven, with humbuckers, the series/parallel switch and the VA boost. This guitar absolutely kills!!!! Never been a big fan of humbuckers, but this thing is super controllable (read: completely smooth volume control) and has so many tones with the switching system that I’ve fallen in love with humbucking pickups again! Think I’m gonna havta order me one with soapbars now. I am sold on Tom Anderson quality and functional playability.

Anderson guitars are great instruments. No doubt about that. But I think they are overpriced. I have been building parts guitars for over 30 years and have pretty much figured out combinations that work well together and that, to me, is the key. I can build a great guitar for considerably less. The downside though is that they don't hold their value compared to an Anderson, or other "name" brands like even a stock ordinary Fender.
