It seems like EL84 tubes need changing about once a year. How often have folks found they need to change out 6V6 tubes?
Thanks

I've got 6V6's in my Remedy and in my Bogner Duende. Had them in there for years. The EL84's, especially in the Maz's are biased hot and seem to deteriorate much faster.

When I think they may need replacing, I play the ones that are in there, then put in a new set and play again. If the new ones sound better, they stay in. If they don't, old ones go back in. 6V6s and other "big bottle" tubes last a whole lot longer than EL-84s as Ken says above.

I have the original tubes in my Cure that I bought new when they were released. It still sounds great after 3 years!
