Arrived about a half hour ago. SN EE-50002. Is that good? (Heh.) Just plugged her in briefly--straight in with my CR7. Yep--it's the real deal. First impressions: there's a magic sweet spot at just past 9:00 on that master volume where it really opens up harmonically before getting LOUD--this is with the V control at about 3:00, Cut 9:00, T 11:00, B 2:00. Don't be fooled by the "Jr" designation--it may be 15 watts, but these are gotdang Z WATTS, brothers, and this critter's plenty of amp for any venue I'm likely to play in. Got some nice bass kick once I brought the MV up a bit, but the magic in this amp is truly in the upper mids, which are rich, chimey af, with singing sustain with humbuckers (haven't tried a Tele or Strat yet). The top end could get intense depending on your settings, but I found it easy to tame with the T and Cut controls in tandem. Beautiful work Doc--sounds great, looks great, feels great. May you sell a gazillion of 'em! (Also, ran it in stereo with my Lux for just a bit, and it was glorious!)

If you're going to run it with delay, I'm thinking you'll want a pedal that's pretty transparent--maybe not a tape delay type. Clean repeats--nothing muddy for this amp. Also, at higher gain settings, predictably, your time-based effects will get over-the-top pretty quickly. Man--those upper mids!

Head or combo? And congrats! And, glad you chose the R7 for the maiden voyage! Thanks! Combo, for portability's sake. Plus I didn't want the added expense of the matching cab. Yeah--the R7's going to be my go-to for the next couple of shows, I think, and I really wanted to try something I didn't see in any of the demo vids. It's not a super high output guitar, but it's got plenty of oomph to get some nice drive out of the Jr. Very tempted to get my Tele out next. Bummed that I have to go teach a three-hour class here in a bit.

Nice percussive chonk-a-whomp when you get it opened up a bit--not talking loud, even, but more than bedroom level, whatever that is.

Tele is everything you'd expect. Once I get back from class (what do you say, kids--should we go home a little early?) I'll run a Gretsch or two and maybe even a Strat. I expect nothing less than greatness.

Greenback is the perfect choice, IMO. I never thought of a Greenback as a chimey speaker, or particularly smooth, or particularly big on the bottom end, but it's all of that in this amp, somehow, right out of the box--no break-in required.

Sounds like this is a killer amp, and everything you hoped for, keep your findings coming, I'm really enjoying the journey!

Getting it dialed in with a couple of favorite dirt pedals. Not that it needs them. There's a lot of different ways to run this amp, potentially, and so far they all sound great. I think for our outdoor show in May I might run a wet/dry rig, with time based effects going into the Z-Lux, and the Wreck Jr as the dry amp so I can crank it a bit without muddying things up.

Pick your tone. Doc has deliver them all. It should be, "To Many Options"
