Anyone have one of these or play one recently? Really like the looks of the Alan Hinds model in Lake Placid blue with a roasted, flamed neck. How do they stack up against Suhr or Tom Anderson?

Hi Chilly. I have an Xotic XSC-1 (3 single coils). I've been playing it everyday for about 2 1/2 years now. It's by far the best guitar I have. The oiled neck finish feels great. Their fret work is excellent. However, I didn't get Stainless frets, so they're starting to show some wear. I got the RV-60's pickups. They sound great to me. They are a little bit hotter than the RV-50's, but the difference is barely noticeable. I've never played a Suhr, but I have played my friends Anderson. IMHO, the Xotic is every bit as good as an Anderson. RE: the Hinds model, keep in mind Hinds says he never uses the middle pickup. So the middle pickup on the Hinds is a dummy, it doesn't work. In my opinion, Xotic makes elite level guitars at a little bit better price than the other builders. The people at Xotic were great to deal with, very friendly. You won't go wrong getting an Xotic.
