The guitar family has undergone some changes lately. I got my Midtown back I had raced about previously. I mostly play my LP or Tele so I didn’t want to tie up 2-3k in a real 335. It’s a great “bang for your buck” guitar. Plays and sounds like a semi-hollow should. However, the real news here is the MJT partscaster. It came with Don Mare 54 Fomvar pups already loaded. I’ve never been a strat guy though there have been a few times I’ve thought I was. This strat sounds like a strat should. I think part of my problem in the past has been trying to get SRV/Texas blues tones that not every strat is capable of. This one does that in spades. It is a perfect pairing with my Monza (which I also happened to get back in the same trade). The neck has a 7.25” radius which I’m not sure I’m crazy about, but who cares when a guitar sounds as good as this one!

I really dig my Midtown Custom w/Burstbucker 2s. Great guitar for the $$(used near mint).

I would really love a hollow body, but I don't like the shorter scale length. I'm really thinking about selling my Suhr JM I love to help fund a Duesenberg. I love the concept (hollow body and 25.5 scale) and they get rave reviews. But I'm going to have to get one in my hands before I'm ready to let the Suhr go.

I have had three Duesenbergs and they were all excellent. I let 2/3 go because people really wanted a Duesey to the point of giving me a really good deal. I let the other go so I could my third one in a different finish.

I always liked Daphne Blue but it's one of the few old Fender automotive colors I've never owned. Enjoy.

How do you like the over all finish on the MJT? Yours doesn't look to be very relic'ed. I had a Tele from them that was a little over done. It played well, but the wear didn't look natural. As opposed to being worn where you would expect, it kinda looked like they tied it to the back of a forklift and pulled it around a warehouse for a few days. The main reason I moved on from that guitar is that it had Lollar Imperial widerange humbuckers. They sounded great, but every position sounded almost exactly the same. Only a tiny difference between the neck and bridge, so little that in between didn't really do much to the tone at all.
